I will obviously have to append this post as to list my favorite 80's ballads could take awhile (admittedly I am a ballad junkie, it's been pointed out, that I hadn't realized much of my favorite music no matter the type seems geared towards the sad/lost love song. So I should be REALLY into country!)

But the fist to pop into my head.

Bryson/Rondstat - Somewhere Out There

Edit...Some more:

Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is
Whitesnake - Is This Love
John Waite - Missing You
Journey - Open Arms & Faithfully
Boston- Amanda
Survivor- The Search Is Over
Firehouse - When I Look Into Your Eyes & Love Of A Lifetime
Level 42 - Something About You
The Cars - Drive
Chicago - Remember The Feeling & Sonny Think Twice
Richard Marx - Right Here Waiting
Kenny Loggins - I'm Free (Heaven Helps The Man)
Lionel Ritchie - Hello
Alias - More Than Words Can Say
Heart - Alone
Bad English - When I See You Smile
Billy Joel - The Longest Time
Dan Fogelberg - Same Old Lang Syne & Longer
Wham - Careless Whisper & Everything She Wants
Jennifer Warnes & Joe Cocker - Up Where We Belong
Spandau Ballet - True
Kool And The Gang - Cherish
Stevie Wonder - I Just Called To Say I Love You
The Jets - You've Got It All & Make It Real
The Beach Boys - Kokomo
Jackson Browne - Somebody's Baby
The Bangles - Eternal Flame
Debbie Gibson - Lost In Your Eyes
38 Special - Second Chance
Jeff Healey Band - Angel Eyes
Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams
When in Rome - The Promise
Atlantic Starr - Always
Randy Travis - Forever and Ever, Amen
SKO - Can't Stop Love & Baby's Got A New Baby
Human League - Human
The Outfield - Your Love
The Moody Blues - Your Wildest Dreams
Jack Wagner - All I Need
Animotion - Obsession
The Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now
Steve Perry - Oh Sherrie
Huey Lewis & the News - If This Is It
Mike And The Mechanics - The Living Years
McCartney/Jackson - The Girl Is Mine
Naked Eyes - Always Something There to Remind Me & Promises, Promises
Def Leppard - Photograph
Human League - Don't You Want Me
Ronnie Milsap - Smoky Mountain Rain
Ambrosia - Biggest Part of Me
Robbie Dupree - Steal Away

I'm sure I could think of more I like but this should be enough for now Grin
Told you I was a ballad junkie!

just remembered more...
Night Ranger - When You Close Your Eyes
Journey - Lights

Going through your lists I found more I loved but didn't recognize by name, or just hadn't heard in a long time.
Like the Men At Work song Overkill,  I should have it on CD but missed it being there because the title didn't ring a bell.
Seeing Restless Heart had me looking up the lyrics for a sing through as it's been years and I found another I forgot about...

Restless Heart - A Tender Lie Edit another one....Restless Heart - I'll Still Be Loving You
So many forgotten songs....hope more people post more songs!!!!!!
